happy (rest-)weekend!

presents

Hey there! Are you enjoying your weekend so far?

I’ve been to a birthday party yesterday (see the presents above? Lots of goodies I wish I could have kept myself in there) and I am going to a Death Cab For Cutie concert tomorrow,  it couldn’t get much better (I really hope they play this song!). I’ve heard they are really good live and I’ve waited for them to go on tour in my area for ages, so I am really looking forward to it.

Are you up to anything excited this weekend?

A few pretty things I found this week:

1) Wouldn’t you like to be here on a cold November evening?

2) The perfect pumpkin pie. Hope I find the time to try it.

3) Punch to go with it.

4) Funny ( And so true).

5) Great styling for a holiday party.

6) Took me a  bit long to check this site out, now I could browse it for hours.

7) Carrie’s closet.

8) And a pretty (and comfy) outfit.

one day

This week I am finally going to see the new movie ”One Day’ (based on the novel by David Nicholls). I know that it’s been hyped incredibly, but I just loved reading the book so much! It is a beautiful love story that is told over the course of 20 years (one day each year – hence the title) and it’s one of these reads that you are not able to put down until you are finished (and then be sorry that the story is over). Hopefully the movie is just as good as the book, I am always a little bit nervous watching film versions of something I really, really liked because I don’t want my original ‘mental image’ of the characters and the story being ruined by a movie. Still, there are great adaptions out there (like this one for example), so I will give this one a try as well!

Are there any movies you are looking forward to right now?

PS: This one looks great as well.

corners // dabito

Dabito is a photographer who lives in a beautiful loft apartment in downtown LA. I love the combination of modern and clean design (like the telephone table for example) and more ‘romantic’ items like the chandelier. On top of that his apartment is filled with fun prints and lots and lots of books, which always gives a home that ‘lived in’ feeling, so that it doesn’t only look like some pretty rooms from a random design magazine. Don’t you just adore the long windowsill with the novels and the old-fashioned white telephone?

If you would like to see more pictures of this place you can check out Dabitos Flickr stream over here, or his blog over here as well (where he also shares home tours on a pretty regular basis!)

Have a good Monday!

outfit // a date at the café

Oh, I am in love with this coat. I adore the color (well, I basically adore all autumn colors, so that’s that) and the bow detail makes it even more special. Paired with a basic black dress and pretty tights (with dots!) you will look cute but still like a grown-up (especially with red lips and red nail polish).

I think I would wear it on a relaxed date at the café, maybe a place like this one or this one.

paper and chain

Paper And Chain is a beautiful new jewellery shop (opened today!) by long-time friends Ismay and Naomi. They say that they wanted to create affordable jewellery that is still unique and elegant. Well, I’d say: Mission accomplished! All of the pieces are delicate and beautiful and I might have added some of them to my imaginary Christmas wishlist already. They would also make a great present for your best friend or your sister.

So, head on over and fill your shopping cart with pretty jewellery (This is a selection of my favourite pieces).
